Cal V8+ Named ACC Co-Crew Of The Week
V8+ Swept No. 10 Syracuse, No. 11 Virginia Last Weekend
BERKELEY – After sweeping No. 10 Syracuse and No. 11 Virginia at this past weekend's ACC Challenge at the Redwood Shores, the No. 8 California women's rowing team first varsity eight boat was named the ACC Co-Crew of the Week alongside Stanford, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
The time of 6:20.5 posted against Syracuse on Sunday marked the second fastest time of the season by the V8+.
It is the second consecutive year that the Golden Bears' V8+ defeated both Syracuse and Virginia (then ranked No. 8 and No. 11, respectively) as it swept both schools at last year's ACC/Pac-12 Invitational at Lake Monticello in Fluvanna County, Virginia.
The Bears have this weekend off before heading north for the Washington duel at the Montlake Cut in Seattle on April 26.
