BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The California men's golf team got off to a hot start and moved into fourth place before ACC Championship second-round play was suspended due to inclement weather Friday at The Club at Olde Stone.
 
The second round will resume at 5:30 a.m. PT on Saturday and continue into the completion of the third and final round. The top eight teams at the conclusion of stroke play will advance to match play on Sunday.
 
The Golden Bears (-7), who entered the tournament as the No. 12 seed, collectively shot 6-under par through at least 10 holes played Friday. They'll start Saturday's action trailing only North Carolina (-14), Virginia (-10) and Wake Forest (-8).
 
Redshirt freshman Sihao Cong led the charge with a 5-under effort through 11 holes, which moved him into a tie for second place individually. Cong, who shot even-par 72 in the first round Thursday, birdied holes 10 and 11 to start the day and was rolling with birdies on 18 and 1, followed by an eagle on 2, before the play was suspended. Cong is one of five golfers tied for second place and trails clubhouse leader Deven Patel of Virginia by only one stroke.
 
Freshman Ziqin (Eric) Zhou was 1-under on the day through 10 holes played and is tied for 17th alongside Wenliang Xie, while Daniel Heo (+1) and Kuangyu (Tony) Chen (+3) are tied for 32nd and 42nd, respectively.
