KEY THINGS TO KNOW
BACK HOME - Cal will play at home for the first time since March 16 when it opens the three-game set against Clemson on Friday. Cal will play nine of its next 12 at Stu Gordon Stadium.
Â
5 TOP 25 ACC SERIES IN A ROW - Cal's series against Clemson is its fourth consecutive ACC series against a team in the top 25 of at least one national college baseball poll. The Bears previously faced Virginia at home as well as Stanford and Louisville on the road, and a three-game set against Georgia Tech on April 11-13 is still on the docket.
Â
9-GAME ROAD TRIP IN THE BOOKS - Cal scored twice in the top of the ninth inning on Tuesday at Sacramento State to pull out a 6-5 win in the final game of a season-long nine-game road trip. The Bears finished 7-2 on the trip, which included a historic three-game sweep at No. 14 Stanford (March 21-23). It was Cal's first three-game road sweep of the Cardinal in recorded history and first three-game sweep of Stanford at any venue since taking three straight in Berkeley in 1992.
Â
ROAD TRIP STREAKS/NUMBERS - Cal had double-digit hits and homered at least once in each of its nine games during the nine-game road trip. The Bears also scored double-digit runs six times, totaled 49 extra-base hits (27 2B, 5 3B, 17 HR) and had a .606 slugging percentage. Â
Â
LOTS OF EXTRA-BASE HITS - Through March 31, Cal ranks third in the ACC and is tied for ninth nationally in doubles (68), fourth in the ACC and tied for 39th nationally in triples (9), and fifth in the ACC and tied for 42nd nationally in home runs. In addition to their nine-game homer streak, the Bears have at least one double in each of their last 21 games.
Â
ADVINCULA EXTENDS STREAKS - All-American candidate
Jarren Advincula has extended his current hitting streak to 14 games and his current run of reaching base safely to 23 (both season highs). Advincula's career bests are a 19-game hit streak and a run of 27 straight games of reaching base safely (both in 2024).
