Bears Look To Win First Ever MPSF Men’s Rowing Championships

BERKELEY – No. 2 California will compete in the first-ever MPSF Men's Rowing Championships this weekend at Lake Natoma in Gold River.
 
Men's rowing was added to the MPSF before the start of the 2024-25 season, becoming the conference's 15th sport. Racing begins at 12:30 p.m. PT Saturday and extends through Sunday morning. The Golden Bears will race their first through third varsity eights, first varsity four and freshmen eight boats. The MPSF title will be awarded to the winner of the varsity eight grand final. 
 
Joining the Bears will be No. 1 Washington, No. 7 Stanford, No. 19 Oregon State along with Gonzaga, San Diego, Santa Clara and UC San Diego.
 
Both days of racing will be live streamed via the Overnght platform and live results will be posted HERE.
 
This marks the final set of races before Cal gets ready for the IRA National Championships at the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey on May 30-June 1.

Saturday
12:30 p.m. – V8+ heat 1
12:40 p.m. – V8+ heat 2
12:50 p.m. – 2V8+ heat 1
1 p.m. – 2V8+ heat 2
 
Sunday
9 a.m. – Freshmen 8+ grand final
9:12 a.m. – V4+ grand final
9:24 a.m. – 3V8+ grand final
9:36 a.m. – 2V8+ petite final
9:48 a.m. – 2V8+ grand final
10 a.m. – V8+ petite final
10:12 a.m. V8+ grand final
