4 Bears Earn NFCA All-Region Recognition
Cal’s Fourth Straight Season With 4-Plus Selections
Four California softball players earned All-Region recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday.
Shortstop
Acacia Anders and catcher
Lagi Quiroga garnered West Region Second Team honors, while first baseman
Tianna Bell and outfielder
Elon Butler earned third team recognition.
At least four Golden Bears have received NFCA All-Region accolades in each of the last four seasons. It was Butler's third straight honor after being named to the first team in 2024 and the third team in 2023.
Anders picked up the second honor of her career after earning a spot on the third team in 2022. She holds a .303 batting average and .556 slugging percentage with 43 hits, 37 RBIs and a team-high 18 doubles this season. Anders tallied the 200th hit of her career earlier this season while also setting the program record for career doubles. Her 18 doubles in 2025 are one shy of Cal's single-season record, which she set a season ago.
Quiroga continues to rack up accolades after being named to the All-ACC First Team earlier this month. She earned her second straight All-Region honor after being named to the first team in 2024. Quiroga leads the Bears in hits (60) and runs scored (45) while sitting second on the team in slugging percentage (.635), RBIs (43), doubles (13), home runs (11), total bases (108) and walks (29). She has caught 10 base runners on stolen base attempts, which is tied for first in the conference.
Bell brought in her second consecutive All-Region honor after being named to the third team a year ago. She leads the team in slugging percentage (.689), RBIs (53), home runs (15) and total bases (113), while being second in hits (58). She earned All-ACC second team recognition earlier this month.
Butler joins Jazmyn Jackson (2015-17) and
Tatum Anzaldo (2022-24) as the only Bears with three consecutive all-region accolades in the past decade. She has recorded 16 stolen bases and 35 walks this season, both of which lead the team, while sitting second in batting average (.365) and runs scored (44) and third in hits (57) and home runs (10).
