The California track & field team is set to send 26 athletes to College Station, Texas, next week for the NCAA West Regionals, following the release of the men's and women's regional qualifying lists Thursday. The meet, which will be held from May 28-31 and aired on ESPN+, will determine which athletes advance to the upcoming NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, this June.

The Golden Bears' 14 women's qualifiers include two athletes – Lucija Leko and Asjah Atkinson – who will be competing in two events apiece. Leko, the reigning ACC shot put silver medalist, will appear in both the shot put and the discus, while Asjah Atkinson earned a spot in the 100m hurdles and long jump fields.

Cal's women have three athletes seeded in the regional Top 10: ACC discus silver medalist Caisa-Marie Lindfors (No. 3), ACC hammer silver medalist Valentina Savva (No. 5) and ACC hammer champion Giavonna Meeks (No. 10).

Jared Freeman is the lone man out of the Bears' 12 male qualifiers set to compete in two events – the hammer and the discus – after earning a bronze medal in the former at the ACC Outdoor Championships. He is the No. 8 seed in the discus, rounding out Cal's three-man Regional Top-10 group that includes discus world record-holder Mykolas Alekna (No. 1) and 400m star Johnny Goode (No. 4).
