18 Bears Named IRCA Scholar-Athletes

Cal Tallies Most Honors In Program History

BERKELEY – The Intercollegiate Rowing Collegiate Association (IRCA) announced its 2025 Scholar Athletes on Wednesday, including 18 members of the California men's rowing team - the most in program history and sixth-most of any team in the country.
 
Seven of the 18 rowers have earned the honor multiple times over their career with Jamie Arnold, Farley Dimon-Brown and Iliad Izadi leading the way, having made the list three times.
 
In order to be named a "scholar athlete," rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria:
  • Be in their second year or more of eligibility
  • Competed in their program's top three boats during the current season or raced at the 2025 IRA Championship.
  • Have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through the fall semester.
