Alsola Named Academic All-American
California women's tennis graduate
Jessica Alsola added another accolade to her accomplished career Tuesday when she was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team in recognition of her standout work on the courts and in the classroom.
Â
Alsola, who graduated from Cal in May with a bachelor's degree in psychology, collected multiple academic honors in her final season as a Golden Bear. She garnered a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team – a prerequisite to being named a CSC Academic All-American – and collected the Golden Bear Achievement Award for posting the top grade-point average on the squad. Alsola helped the Bears achieve the Newmark Award as the Cal squad with the highest team GPA.

The Fresno product also had a stellar 2024-25 on the courts. Alsola and doubles partner
Mao Mushika finished the year with a No. 4 ITA ranking to claim doubles All-America honors, and the duo (15-4) – which competed in the NCAA Doubles Championship in November – was named to the All-ACC Second Team. In singles, Alsola (20-11) earned a spot on the All-ACC Third Team and a No. 57 final ITA ranking. She helped lead Cal to the NCAA Championship Super Regional and a 15-9 record, including a 9-3 mark in the Bears' inaugural year in the ACC.
