INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Recent Cal graduate Dare Rose earned his first national championship of the meet in the 50-meter butterfly at the 2025 Toyota National Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
After securing a second seed in the A-final this morning, Rose shaved .06 seconds off his preliminary time to earn a first-place finish in a time of 23.06 to secure a trip to Singapore for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships. It will be his fourth consecutive appearance at the world championships.  
 
Cal alum Gabriel Jett was the first Golden Bear to clinch a spot at the world championships on the day after a runner-up finish in the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 1:44.70, marking a personal best.
 
Rising junior Keaton Jones made his way to the podium after a second-place finish in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 1:54.85, punching his ticket to Singapore.
 
Day three of the 2025 Toyota National Championships continues tomorrow with the preliminary rounds beginning at 7 a.m. PT. Coverage will be available on www.usaswimming.org.
