Made his debut at the 2023 World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka, Japan
- Captured his first individual medal at the World Championships with a bronze in the 100 fly
  - First American to medal in the event since 2019 with a personal-best time of 50.46
- Helped win gold in the 4x100 medley relay with fellow Cal swimmers Ryan Murphy and Jack Alexy
  - Trio broke a 13-year old American record with a time of a time of 3:27.20, breaking the previous mark of 3:27.28 set in 2009 during the "supersuit" era.
- Advanced to the finals in the 50 fly and finished sixth.
Won gold in the 100 fly at the 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships to earn his first berth at the FINA World Championships
Threw down 51.40 to place fourth in 100m fly at 2022 U.S. Phillips 66 International Team Trials, narrowly missing a roster spot for FINA World Championships
