BERGEN, Norway – Three members of the California track & field team competed at the European U23 Championships from Thursday-Sunday at Bergen's Fana Stadium, hoping to add yet more individual accolades on a major global stage to their already-impressive resumes.
 
Rising junior Lucija Leko, who hails from Croatia, reached the final in the women's discus, posting a throw of 52.32m (171-8) in the qualifier before finishing seventh overall with a mark of 52.05m (170-9). She also competed in the women's shot put, placing sixth in her qualifying flight with a mark of 14.87m (48-9.5).
 
In the women's hammer throw, rising senior Audrey Jacobs advanced out of the qualifying round with a throw of 64.19m (210-7), later taking 11th (63.65m/208-10) in the final for the Netherlands.
 
Competing for Austria in the women's 100m hurdles, rising junior and national U23 champion Mari Testa finished just shy of semifinal qualification with a time of 13.69 in the first round.
