Cilekova, Xu Win Openers At ITA All-Americans
CARY, N.C. – The California women's tennis team began the 2025-26 season with a pair of pre-qualifying singles wins in the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday. Freshman

Naomi Xu also posted a victory at Cary Tennis Park.

Cilekova defeated Northern Arizona's Patrycja Niewiadomska 6-1, 6-2 in the first round to advance to the round of 128. She will next face Oklahoma's 21st-seeded Chloe Noel on Sunday at 6 a.m. PT. Xu bested James Madison's Daria Munteanu 6-3, 6-3 in Saturday's round of 256. She will take on Vanderbilt's 19th-seeded Mia Yamakita in the second round on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. PT.

Greta Greco Lucchina also competed in pre-qualifying singles, with the 125th-ranked sophomore falling to South Carolina's Bella Bergqvist Larsson 6-2, 6-4. Greco Lucchina will next play Rice's Uma Bakaiyte in the first round of the consolation draw Sunday at 10 a.m. PT.

The Cal tandem of Xu and senior
Berta Passola Folch was a late addition to the pre-qualifying doubles field. The duo fell to Iowa's Daianne Hayashida and Tereza Dejnozkova 6-3, 6-2 in Saturday's opening round of 32. The two Bears next play Indiana's Alessandra Teodosescu and Nicole Teodosescu in the consolation draw on Sunday at 2 p.m. PT.
