Bears Head To Pacific Northwest For The Tindall
Two-Day, 54-Hole Tournament Precedes Big Match Later This Week
BREMERTON, Wash. - The California men's golf team kicks off a busy week Monday at The Tindall, a 14-team tournament hosted by the University of Washington at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
The Golden Bears, coming off a strong season-opening fifth-place finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate earlier this month in Grand Haven, Mich., are one of eight teams in the field that qualified for an NCAA Regional last season.
The first 36 holes are to be played Monday with the final 18 slated for Tuesday. Cal will have a day off before pairing with the Bears' women's team to take on rival Stanford at The Big Match on Thursday at Menlo Country Club.
After a sluggish first round at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, the Bears shot 2-under par as a team over the final two rounds to finish fifth out of 15 in a highly competitive field. Cal placed three individuals in the top 20, led by
Charlie Berridge and
Sihao Cong, who were among a group tied for 16
th at 3-over par.
Daniel Heo was one shot back in a tie for 19
th at 4-over par.
The Bears are bringing their entire roster to compete at The Tindall, with three players competing as individuals.
