Cal and Stanford's golf programs will renew their annual rivalry Thursday with the sixth edition of the Big Match at Menlo Country Club.

The annual event, which features a combined match play event with both schools' men's and women's golf programs, commences at 12 p.m. PT.

The Big Match debuted in 2018 and the Golden Bears won each of the first two showdowns between the schools. After the event was put on hold for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it returned in 2022 and the Cardinal has won two of the past three matches.

Cal's men's team is coming off a fourth-place finish at The Tindall earlier this week in Bremerton, Washington. The Bears shot 13-under par as a team – their best performance in almost a year.

The Bears' women's team opened the 2025-26 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate earlier this month and will travel to Corvallis, Oregon, next week for the Molly Collegiate Invitational.

Stanford's women were the preseason No. 1 team in the country.
