BERKELEY, Calif.– The California women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with Washington State on Thursday at Edwards Stadium.
The Golden Bears (3-1-3) earned their second shutout of the season led by senior goalkeeper
Teagan Wy who tallied a season-high seven saves. Wy now has 0.75 goals allowed average in her last four starts with a 5.25 saves per game average.
Cal won the shot battle 19-9 and put 11 on frame but could not break through in what was a very physical and chippy match from start to finish. In total there were 19 fouls committed
The Cougars (0-1-3) were held to just two shots in the first period but earned more of the possession share in the second half and managed to take seven shots including five on goal.

Lumi Kostmayer led the team with five shots and gave three a chance to score. Sixth-year
Mia Fontana and junior Soleli Dimry followed with three shots each at the forward position.
Freshman defender
Olivia McPherson earned her first collegiate start and played the full 90 minutes.
The Bears will now hit the road Sunday to face Cal Poly at 1 p.m. at Spanos Stadium in San Luis Obispo.
