Bears Place Two In Top 25 In Season-Opening Round

Miyamoto, Berridge Lead Bears At Folds Of Honor Collegiate

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The California men's golf team placed two individuals in the top 25 after the first round of the season-opening Folds of Honor Collegiate on Monday at American Dunes Golf Club.

Sophomore Matthew Miyamoto birdied three of the first six holes before finishing with a 1-over par 72, which put him in a tie for 13th place. Fifth-year senior Charlie Berridge is a stroke behind at 2-over and tied for 24th.

The Golden Bears are tied for 10th place as a team at 14-over through the first 18 holes. No. 18 Alabama and Notre Dame are tied atop the team leaderboard after each carding a 1-over par.

Cal resumes play Tuesday for the second round with a 5:15 a.m. PT tee time.
