STANFORD – Junior
Kyndal Todd drove in three runs – including her second home run in as many days to start the season – but the California softball team dropped a pair of games at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday.
Todd hit a two-run blast three batters into the game but the Golden Bears (0-3) ultimately fell to No. 20 Oklahoma State, 15-2. Cal then dropped a 10-2 decision to San Jose State.
Despite the lopsided final score, Cal pitchers
Mya McGowan and
Taylor Peacock combined to allow zero earned runs against the Spartans. The Bears made two errors, but one led to an eight-run second inning for San Jose State.
Sophomore
Kayli Counts added a pair of singles against the Spartans.
The Bears (0-3) resume play in the Stanford Invitational on Sunday with another game against San Jose State followed by a tilt against No. 17 Stanford.
