ACC REGULAR-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE BALANCE
Friday night's meet will be filled with excitement as the 2026 ACC regular season champions will be crowned. Should Cal beat Stanford, the Bears and the Cardinal would share the regular-season conference title. Cal was selected to finish third in the ACC's Preseason Poll, with Stanford atop the preseason rankings.

LAST TIME OUT
Cal broke 197 for the first time this season in last weekend's dual meet with Boise State. The Bears outscored the Broncos 197.225-195.925 in Haas Pavilion, bolstered by Cal's strongest team floor exercise performance of the season (49.450) and a clean sweep of the individual event titles.

PAULSSON PACES STRONG BEARS BARS LINEUP
Freshman Tonya Paulsson leads the Bears on the uneven bars with a 9.935 NQS, which is good for a share of fourth place nationally. She's tied with UCLA's Jordan Chiles for top gymnast in the West on the event. Paulsson recorded her second straight and third overall 9.950 on bars this past weekend against the Broncos. She paces a strong Cal bars lineup, with five of Cal's six gymnasts currently ranked in the nation's top 80. Sage Melkonian matched her career-best 9.925 last week versus Boise State and Casey Brown has shown consistency on the event week-to-week to tie for 50th place nationally with a 9.880 NQS.

ALL-AROUNDER ANNALISE
Annalise Newman-Achee has collected 10 all-around podium finishes in as many meets, taking gold versus Boise State and at Pitt, silver at the Best of the West, Sac State Tri and versus NC State and North Carolina, and bronze at the Metroplex Challenge, Clemson, Stanford and the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad. Most recently, she set her career high on floor with a 9.900 against Boise State, capturing her first win on the event in a three-way tie with fellow Bears Tonya Paulsson and Kyen Mayhew. She began competing in the all-around this season after primarily featuring on uneven bars last season. Newman-Achee currently ranks tied for 18th in the nation in the all-around with a 39.320 NQS.

PAULSSON CONTINUES TO SHINE IN DEBUT COLLEGIATE SEASON
Tonya Paulsson ranks the highest in the all-around among all Bears with her share of 15th nationally and a 9.890 NQS. She is the third-highest ranking gymnast in the West behind UCLA's Jordan Chiles (2nd) and Stanford's Anna Roberts (5th) and is the second-highest ranked in the ACC.

MAKING STRIDES ON FLOOR EXERCISE
Cal set a new season high on floor exercise this past Saturday against Boise State, compiling a 49.450 on the event. The Bears have improved their season best on the event every week for the last seven consecutive weeks. Tonya Paulsson, Annalise Newman-Achee and Kyen Mayhew shared gold with a 9.900 each, which was a personal-best for Newman-Achee. Casey Brown also set a new personal best from the leadoff spot with a 9.875, while Jayden Silvers matched Brown's score for her own career high. Cal's current No. 25 ranking on the event is its highest placement in the Road To Nationals weekly rankings this season.

MELKONIAN MAKING HER MARK
Sage Melkonian shared the balance beam title with Cal's Sarah Lee at the Bears' dual with Boise State, notching a stuck dismount and a career-best 9.900 on the event. She also stuck her dismount on bars to match her career-high on the event (9.925) and exhibitioned on both vault and floor, as she looks to break into the Bears' lineups to compete in the all-around.

DO IT FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T
Cal will raise awareness for various causes in its "Do It For Those Who Can't" meet. Each gymnast has selected 1-2 causes that hold meaning for her, represented by a colorful ribbon in her hair.

SENIOR DAY IN BEAR TERRITORY
Cal will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday at the Cal Quad Meet, honoring seniors Miki Aderinto, Casey Brown and Jayden Silvers, in addition to fifth-year Abbey Scanlon in what will be their final performance in Haas Pavilion. A post-meet ceremony will take place in which each gymnast is recognized on the floor with her family and friends.
