SAN LUIS OBISPO – Two members of the California beach volleyball team joined the 75-win club and the No. 9 Golden Bears registered a benchmark victory on the final day of the Center of Effort Challenge on Saturday at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.

After beginning the day with a 4-1 loss to No. 6 Cal Poly, the Golden Bears came back with a 4-1 victory over defending national champion and No. 8 TCU.

Junior Emma Donley, playing with partner Portia Sherman on the No. 1 court; and senior Gia Fisher, playing with Ava Haughy on Court 4, each picked up victories  against the Horned Frogs to record career win No. 75. They join six other players in program history to reach that plateau – including Sherman earlier this season.

Cal's victory over TCU was its third over a top-10 opponent this year. The Bears previously beat No. 8 Arizona State and No. 4 Texas.

Sherman and Donley registered a straight-set triumph over TCU while Fisher and Haughy notched a come-from-behind 17-21, 25-23, 15-11 victory.

The Bears close out the 2026 regular season next weekend at the Stanford West Coast Classic, where they will take on the No. 1 Cardinal, Cal Poly, Pepperdine and San Jose State.
