PANAMA CITY, FL. - California men's golf sophomore Ziqin Zhou shot a 3-under par 69 in the first round of the ACC Championship on Thursday. Zhou ended the day in a tie for fifth place, while the Bears shot 6-over par as a team and currently sit in 11th place after Day 1.
 
Freshman Trevor Cox shot a 2-over par 74, while redshirt junior Charlie Bundy carded a 3-over par 75. Both Daniel Heo and Sihao Cong shot a 4-over par 76, ending the day tied for 51st place.
 
The Bears currently sit three spots back of a tie for eighth place with Florida State, Virginia, and Clemson.
 
Cal will tee off tomorrow beginning at 6 a.m. PT, playing 18 holes tomorrow and concluding the stroke-play portion of the tournament Saturday with the final 18. The top eight teams will advance to the match-play round, beginning Sunday.
