Liu Selected To Stanford Regional
Senior Among 6 Individuals Selected
California women's golf senior
Adora Liu was selected to participate in the regional of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, as announced by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee on Wednesday. The senior is sticking close to home and will take part in the Stanford Regional held at the Stanford Golf Course, May 11-13. Liu was selected as a 4-seed among the group of six individuals.
"It's pretty exciting," Liu said. "It means a lot as a senior. This is my last time playing college golf at the regionals, and it's going to be memorable for sure. I think it's good to represent Cal at one of our local courses in the NCAA's. The team is going to come out and support, they're going to be carrying some posters around, and my family's going to come and watch. So, it's going to be really exciting."
Liu has had a tremendous season for the Golden Bears playing in 10 events and averaging a team-best 73.29 stroke average. She leads the team with three top-5 finishes this year and 11 rounds under par. Liu finished in fifth place individually in the stroke-play round at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate on Oct. 13-14, 2024, with a three under par 141. She shot an even-par 213 at the Alice and John Wallace Classic on Feb. 14-16 and had her best finish of the season at the Silicon Valley Showcase on March 30-31, shooting a 2-under par 211 and finishing as the runner-up.
"We are excited to have Adora selected for the Stanford regionals to continue competition and have a shot to make nationals this spring," head coach
Sofie Aagaard said. "She earned her spot through steady play through this 2025-26 season, and her familiarity with the Stanford Golf Course will set her up well for competition come May 11. It is always great to have representation in postseason play, and we know Adora will represent Cal well across the bay."
The Stanford Regional is one of six regionals that will be played in a 54-hole format over the course of May 11-13. Each regional will host 12 teams and six individuals not attached to a participating team. The top-five teams and top individuals not part of an advancing team will qualify for the NCAA Championship, held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad on May 22-27.
