Passola Folch, Mushika Named To CSC Academic All-District Team
California women's tennis co-captains
Berta Passola Folch and
Mao Mushika were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced Tuesday. Passola Folch is also eligible for CSC Academic All-America honors, as voted on by CSC members.
To claim a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Passola Folch, a senior, excelled on the courts and the classroom throughout her career. The Spaniard is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete who was named to the All-ACC Academic Team last season. She posted a spectacular fall half of the 2025-26 season, advancing all the way to the NCAA Singles Championship final match and earning singles All-America honors. In the spring, she helped lead Cal to the second round of the NCAA Championship, a final 13-8 record and a No. 23 ranking in the most recent ITA poll. Passola Folch — who is currently ranked No. 22 in singles — earned a spot on the All-ACC Singles First Team in April; she is also ranked No. 81 in doubles with Mushika. Passola Folch completed her final season as a Golden Bear with records of 29-8 in singles and 16-10 in doubles and an ACC Player of the Week accolade in the fall.
Mushika, a junior, was one of six Bears named to the All-ACC Academic Team last year. The Japan native is currently ranked No. 102 in singles and twice in doubles, including at No. 75 with Johane Svendsen. Mushika finished the season with a 19-9 singles record and 17-11 doubles mark. For the third straight year, Mushika competed in the NCAA Doubles Championship — partnered this season with
Greta Greco Lucchina — and she played in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second consecutive year.
The CSC Academic All-America Team will be announced June 2.
