Bears Tied For Seventh Place After Round 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio — California men's golf senior
Daniel Heo led the charge for the Golden Bears on Monday, shooting an even par 71, ending the day in a tie for third place, two shots behind Florida's Jack Turner for second place. Cal shot 12-over par as a team, ending the day in a tie for seventh place after Round 1 of the NCAA Columbus Regional.
Redshirt sophomore
Sihao Cong carded a 3-over 74, ending the day in a tie for 30th place, while sophomore sensation
Ziqin Zhou shot a 4-over-par 75, finishing in a tie for 42nd. Redshirt junior
Charlie Bundy shot a 5-over 75, rounding out the scores for the Bears.
The Bears will continue the 3-day 54 hole tournament Tuesday, with the top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team advancing to the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad on May 29-June 3 after the conclusion of Round 3 on Wednesday.
