Tafolla-Voetsch Named To Top 100 Rising ADs List

Annual Recognition Features Administrators Across Country Considered To Be Rising Athletic Directors

California Executive Senior Athletics Director for External Relations Beth Tafolla-Voetsch has been named to the Silver Waves Media Top 100 Rising ADs/Future ADs list, the organization announced Tuesday.

Tafolla-Voetsch has over two decades of experience working for external units across four institutions and last fall took over all of Cal Athletics' external-facing units under her purview. Prior to assuming her current role in September, Tafolla-Voetsch spent over 10 years as a key member of the Cal Athletics Fund – including four years as Chief Development Officer.

The annual list from Silver Waves Media includes athletic administrators considered to be the top rising athletic directors across the country.

In her current leadership role with Cal Athletics, Tafolla-Voetsch oversees the Cal Athletics Fund, athletics communications, creative services, digital media, sponsorship, marketing, ticket operations, sales, service and strategy. Tafolla-Voetsch is one of the architects of Strawberry Creek Studios – the Cal athletic department's new and innovative approach to external strategy that is designed to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving landscape of intercollegiate athletics.

Under Tafolla-Voetsch's leadership as Chief Development Officer, Cal Athletics received a record $82 million of philanthropic giving in 2024-25 – the largest amount in a single year in the department's history. As part of UC Berkeley's mission to endow half of its sports programs by 2028, Tafolla-Voetsch played a key role in securing the eight-figure gifts to endow Cal's men's aquatics programs and men's and women's golf programs.
