The California football team announced 2027 matchups against Old Dominion and Sacramento State on Thursday.

Cal will face the Hornets in a Week Zero matchup in Berkeley on Aug.28 and later welcome the Monarchs to California Memorial Stadium on Sept.11.

Broadcast information and kickoff times will be announced at later dates.

The 2027 meeting marks the first-ever between the Golden Bears and Monarchs. Old Dominion enters 2026 coming off its best finish in 10 years after a 10-3 record and a win over South Florida in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl.

Sacramento State, which enters its first year in the Football Bowl Subdivision and Mid-American Conference this season, will travel to Berkeley for the first time since 2021. Cal leads the all-time series 3-0.

The announcement of these contests along with Cal's matchup against UCLA completes Cal's three-game nonconference slate for 2027.
