Cal Unveils New Hall of Fame, Team Store Ahead of Football Home Opener

Stadium enhancements celebrate Golden Bear tradition and elevate the gameday experience
BERKELEY – California Memorial Stadium will open two new destinations for Golden Bear fans during the first week of the 2026 Cal football season with the unveiling of a renovated Cal Athletics Hall of Fame and the opening of the new Cal Team Store.
Located in front of the Dialpad Club and adjacent to the Lisa & Douglas Goldman Plaza, the renovated Cal Athletics Hall of Fame brings the history of the Golden Bears to life through a combination of storytelling, memorabilia, digital content and immersive graphics. The redesigned space includes athlete feature panels, a digital Hall of Fame display, memorabilia exhibits and prominent recognition of Cal's national championships and extraordinary Olympic tradition.
The upgraded Hall of Fame, which was made possible due to the generosity of supporters Kent and Pat Newmark, Jerry Siebert and Harry Hathaway, also highlights Cal traditions through historical imagery, athlete quotes and illuminated signage.
"We are thrilled to unveil the upgraded Cal Athletics Hall of Fame to celebrate the vast history of success by Cal student-athletes," Co-Directors of Athletics Jenny Simon-O'Neill and Jay Larson said. "The new space tells our story in modernized and compelling ways, and we can't wait to share it with all Cal fans this season.
The Cal Team Store, a new retail destination also located on Goldman Plaza, will feature merchandise and team apparel while giving fans a place to gear up where game day happens.
The Team Store is part of a broader evolution of the Cal Student Store experience through the campus Student Union's partnership with Barnes & Noble College. That effort also includes a full remodel of the main Cal Student Store on Bancroft Way and enhancements to the Anchor House location.
The Cal Team Store will celebrate its official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 3 from 5-6 p.m. The first 100 customers will receive a commemorative giveaway, and shoppers will receive a 10 percent discount from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Regular business hours for the Cal Team Store will be 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional hours for all home football games starting two hours before kickoff.
