BERKELEY – Cal Athletics welcomes an experienced new member to its leadership team with the hiring of Liz Heisser as Senior Associate Athletic Director & Chief Financial Officer. She brings over 20 years of work in finance and operations across sports, media and entertainment to her role at Cal.

"We are so pleased to have Liz join the Cal family," Co-Directors of Athletics Jenny Simon-O'Neill and Jay Larson said of Heisser. "Her vast experience and knowledge will be vital to the development of a multi-year financial sustainability plan for Cal Athletics as we look to maximize revenue for our programs and be innovative in this changing landscape of collegiate athletics. Liz is a true leader who will be a mentor and collaborator for our department."

Heisser most recently served as partner at ImpactX Sports Group, and she has held senior leadership roles in the professional sports world as Chief Operating Officer with Gotham FC in the NWSL and the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL/AHL. Heisser also has been a member of the Graduate Dean's Cabinet at UC Santa Barbara.

With her strong background in financial strategy, financial planning and analysis and capital planning, Heisser will provide strategic financial leadership for Cal Athletics. "It's incredibly meaningful to return to California and join UC Berkeley, where a tradition of excellence is matched by a deep commitment to student-athletes. I look forward to partnering with campus and athletics leadership to advance the department's long-term financial strategy in support of Cal Athletics' continued success. I'm excited for what we will accomplish together in the years ahead."
