Biography

2021-22: Richardson garnered All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention for her junior season and teamed with Jessica Alsola to earn a final No. 74 doubles ranking and post a 10-4 record…equally adept in the classroom, Richardson was named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll for the second time and named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the third time…a strong doubles player, Richardson posted a record of 31-13 in doubles…she was also a steady singles player for the Bears, finishing with a 17-4 record that included a 7-2 mark on court six and a 6-1 record in Pac-12 dual matches…in the fall, Richardson paired with Alsola to reach the doubles semifinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships…Richardson and Alsola then competed in the ITA National Fall Championships, advancing to the second round…Richardson also teamed with Julia Rosenqvist for much of the spring, with the duo going 15-7, including 14-6 on court three.

Spring 2021: Named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll...posted records of 3-3 in singles and 9-7 in doubles in her second season at Cal…had a 6-2 doubles record partnered with Julia Rosenqvist, and the duo beat Abi Altick and Taylor Johnson, 7-6(6), to clinch the doubles point of an eventual 4-3 win over No. 3 UCLA on Feb. 20 in Berkeley…Richardson was also 3-4 with Jada Bui and was 0-1 with Hanah Viller Moeller…Richardson clinched Cal’s 7-0 win over San Francisco with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Arianna Capogrosso at court-six singles on Jan. 29.

Spring 2020: Finished her first season as a Golden Bear with an 8-6 singles record and a 6-2 doubles mark…was chosen as an ITA Scholar-Athlete...was 5-2 in singles in the spring, including a 4-1 dual-match record…won her last three singles matches, including a 6-1, 6-4 result over San Diego State’s Cécile Morin, a 6-2, 6-2 win over UCLA’s Annette Goulak and a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3 victory over USC’s Constance Branstine…went 3-0 in doubles in the spring, with all the wins coming in the Cal Winter Invitational…in the Bears’ tournament, Richardson teamed with Julia Rosenqvist to beat Danielle McIntyre and Gabriela Tevez of Saint Mary’s, 8-2, paired with Katerina Stloukalova to defeat the Gaels’ Lene Mari Hovda/Aubane Ville, 8-1, and partnered Alexis Nelson to top Hovda/Tevez, 8-6.

Fall 2019: Compiled a 3-4 singles record and a 3-2 doubles mark in her first semester as a Golden Bear…in doubles, she partnered with Anna Bright to reach the top-flight final of the Cal Fall Invitational, with the Bears falling to teammates Julia Rosenqvist and Jasie Dunk in the championship match…in top-flight singles at the Cal Fall Invite, Richardson won twice – including a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Gonzaga’s Vlada Medvedcova in the round of 16 – to reach the quarterfinals…at the Saint Francis Health System All-American Championships, Richardson won her singles qualifying opener over Syracuse’s 111th-ranked Sofya Golubovskaya, 6-2, 6-4, before falling to Georgia’s 56th-ranked Meg Kowalski, 6-1, 6-4, in the next round.

PERSONAL/PREVIOUS: Economics major…ranked 10th in the ITA Top Freshmen/Newcomer poll in 2019…has a career-best ITF combined ranking of 136…competed in the doubles main draw and won in the first round in 2019 Junior Wimbledon…represented Great Britain at the under-18 level in 2018-19, including in the 2019 European Summer Cup in singles and doubles, helping the team make its first semifinal appearance in over 17 years…played in several junior ITF tournaments, including reaching the doubles final of the 2019 J2 Benicarlo in Spain, advancing to the singles final of the 2019 J2 Siauli in Lithuania and winning the Delhi November ITF Junior doubles title in 2018…in Great Britain, was ranked in the top 10 at the under-18 level for the previous three years…her Talbot Heath School team won the 2017 Aberdare Cup, Great Britain’s national championship, and she captained Talbot’s 2019 Aberdare Cup runner-up squad…parents are Alyson and Mark Richardson...younger brother is George.
