Biography
2023-24: Posted an 11-6 singles record and a 9-5 doubles mark in tournament play…paired with Berta Passola Folch to reach the doubles semifinals in the Cal Fall Invitational…reached the singles quarterfinals of the Bears’ annual fall tournament and of the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational.
2022-23: Earned Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll and ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction…was 5-8 in singles and 2-5 in doubles.
2021-22: One of Cal’s many stalwarts in the classroom, Brown was named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll (with a grade-point average at or above 3.3) and named an ITA Scholar-Athlete (with a GPA at or above 3.5)…on the court, she posted records of 4-9 in singles and 2-3 in doubles.
Spring 2021: Finished 1-2 in singles…her first collegiate singles win came in an important match against Washington, as the Golden Bears battled for seeding in the Pac-12 Conference...Brown beat UW’s Yolanda Lin, 6-3, 6-1, at court-six singles, with Cal eventually defeating the Huskies, 4-3.
Personal/Previous: Undeclared; interested in majoring in psychology…an aspiring physician assistant…Brown is a five-star recruit who ranked as high as No. 52 in national recruiting polls…rated the 13th-best recruit from the Golden State, Brown led her University High School team to the Southern California Regional Championship and as a junior she was selected as the Orange County Register's Girls Tennis Athlete of the Year, a first in school history…captured the 2018 Pacific Coast League singles title…was a CIF finalist from 2018-20…parents are Suzanne and Scott Spearman, and siblings are Scott Brown and Brendan Spearman.
