Biography
As a Senior (2017):
Voted Gymnast of the Year by her teammates at the program’s annual banquet…The lone Bear to compete in three events in every single meet of the season, going 36-36 to complete her collegiate career, finishing her career with just one fall in four seasons…Earned three event titles with nine top three finishes…At the NCAA Fayetteville Regional (4/1), scored a 9.725 or better on all three events – vault (9.825), bars (9.85) and beam (9.725)…Took home the beam title against defending national champion Oklahoma (3/12) with a career-best 9.90 on the event, and also matched her career-high 9.875 on vault…Racked up three All-America honors at Nebraska’s Masters Classic (2/25), earning first team on bars (9.875) and second team on vault (9.825) and beam (9.85)…the lone Bear to wn an event title at Utah (2/4), picking up the bars crown with a 9.85…Vault champion against Arizona State (1/28) with a 9.85 while claiming second on beam (9.825) and third on bars (9.775)…Set a career-high 9.90 on bars in the Cal triangular meet (1/21) to earn second on the event
As a Junior (2016):
Awarded the “One Day Better” honor at the annual team banquet…Hit every single routine of the season, going 31-31…Competed in every vault and bars lineup, plus the last five beam lineups of the season…Finished in the top three in four events in 2016…Scored above 9.75 in all three of her events in the NCAA Championship Semifinal (4/15), including matching a career-high 9.85 on bars and competing on vault (9.8125) and beam (9.75)…In just her third career outing on beam, set a career-high 9.90 at the Pac-12 Championships (3/19)…Set or matched then-career-highs in all three of her events at the UC Davis triangular (3/11), including a new personal best on beam with a 9.875 in just her second outing on the event…Took silver in her first-ever collegiate beam routine, a 9.85, at the Cal quad meet (3/4)…Also matched a career-high 9.85 on bars in the Cal quad meet
As a Sophomore (2015):
Competed in every bars lineup and 11 of 13 vault lineups of the season…Her 9.85 on bars against UC Davis (3/8) was a career-best…Set a career-high 9.875 on vault at the Washington tri meet (2/21)…Won her first collegiate bars title with a career-high 9.825 at the Cal quad meet (1/25)…Made her collegiate vault debut at the San Jose tri meet (1/16), earning a 9.825 in her outing
As a Freshman (2014):
Appeared in all but one bars lineup...Set a career-high 9.80 on bars against Sac State & SJSU (2/14), and matched it at Stanford (3/3)...Debuted on bars at the NorCal Meet (1/5), posting a 9.50 after joining the Cal team in December
High School/Club:
First alternate to Junior Olympic Nationals in 2013 and 2012 with an eight place all-around finish at 2013 and 2012 Regionals…Also finished fourth in Level 10 vault, third on bars and seventh on floor at 2013 Regionals…Claimed seventh on vault and floor and eighth on bars and all-around at 2013 state competition…Won vault, floor and all-around at 2013 WOGA Classic…Vault champion at 2012 Regionals, and fifth on bars…Took fifth on vault, bars and beam at 2012 state competition and eighth all-around…Claimed uneven bars and all-around title at WOGA Classic in 2012, and first all-around and bars at the Texas Prime Meet…Injured in 2011…Fourth on bars, fifth on vault and 10th all-around at 2010 Regionals…Claimed the beam titles at 2009 and 2010 state competition…Qualified for Westerns in 2008 but could not compete due to injury…Trained at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) under Valeri Liukin (father and coach of Olympic champion Nastia Liukin) and Natalya Maer…Attended Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas, where she was a member of the American Sign Language Honors Society
Personal:
Moved to Texas from hometown of Fort Smith, Ark. to train at WOGA, dividing her time between two homes in two different states…Enjoys crafting, volunteering and spending time with friends and family…Parents are Derrick and Janet…Has two younger siblings – Olivia and Adam…Father, Derrick, played on the University of Arkansas baseball team
