CITY OF BERKELEY PARKING INFO

Parking on the City of Berkeley Residential Streets
Parking on residential streets in the City of Berkeley is limited to no more than 2 hours without the appropriate neighborhood Residential Parking Permit (RPP). Cars parked for more than the allowed 2 hours will be ticketed and fined. On Football Game Days, that fine is DOUBLED for the Residential Areas A, B and D. That doubled fine would amount to $72 each. When traveling to a game, Public Transportation is recommended.

Directions to Cal Campus

From Westbound Highway 24:

To Memorial Stadium
Take the Berkeley/Tunnel Road exit. Continue west on Tunnel Road and it becomes Ashby Avenue. Turn right at Claremont Avenue, and then bear left as it turns into Belrose. Follow Belrose until you are forced to make a left at Derby. Take a right at the stop sign onto Warring. Merge left from Warring onto Piedmont. The stadium is approximately 1/8 of a mile up on your right.

To Haas/RSF
Same as above until Piedmont Avenue. Follow Piedmont to Bancroft Way. Turn left and Haas/RSF is three blocks down on the right, just west of Dana Street.

From Eastbound Highway 24:

To Memorial Stadium
Exit at 51st Street and Telegraph Avenue. Turn right on 51st street. Turn left at second light onto Telegraph. Follow Telegraph approximately two miles. Turn right onto Dwight Way. Turn left at second light onto Piedmont Avenue. Follow Piedmont approximately 1/4 of a mile to the stadium.

To Haas/RSF
Same as above until Telegraph Avenue. Follow Telegraph to Bancroft Way. Turn left and Haas/RSF is three blocks down on the right, just west of Dana Street.

From I-80 (Towards San Francisco or Sacramento):

To Memorial Stadium Exit right onto University Avenue. Head east on University towards campus. Follow University approximately 2.5 miles. Turn left on Oxford Street. Turn right at second light onto Hearst Street. Turn right at second light onto Gayley Road. Follow Gayley approximately 1/4 of a mile to the stadium.

To Haas/RSF
Same as above until Oxford Street. Turn right onto Oxford. Haas/RSF area is two blocks down on the left, just south of Allston Street.

Highway 13 Northbound (Towards Berkeley):

To Memorial Stadium
Freeway ends and turns into Tunnel Road. Continue west on Tunnel as it becomes Ashby Avenue. Turn right at Claremont Avenue, and then bear left as it turns into Belrose. Follow Belrose until you are forced to make a left at Derby. Take a right at the stop sign onto Warring. Merge left from Warring onto Piedmont. The stadium is approximately 1/8 of a mile up on your right.

Sport Specific Directions

Directions/Parking for Tennis

Follow Oxford Street until Frank Schlessinger Way, take a right. Hellman Stadium is located approximately 300 yards up on the right.

Metered parking is available near Hellman Stadium on Oxford Street. Please note that many of these meters have a one-hour limit. However, other meters on the surrounding streets such as Dana, Ellsworth, Fulton, Durant, Bancroft and Channing may allow up to two-hour parking. After 5 pm on weekdays, you can purchase a campus parking ticket for $5 at the Schlessinger Way ticket dispenser that enables you to park on campus. On weekends, you can also buy a parking ticket for $5 at the Schlessinger Way ticket dispenser that allows you to park on campus for the day.

Directions for Baseball

Follow Oxford Street until Frank Schlessinger Way, take a right. Evans Field is located approximately one block up on the right.

Directions for Softball

Follow Piedmont Avenue up to Stadium Way. At the stop sign behind the football stadium, take a left on Centennial Way. Levine-Fricke Field is up on the right.

Directions for Football

Turn left from Channing onto Prospect. Memorial Stadium is straight ahead.

Directions for Volleyball

Follow College Avenue until it dead ends at Bancroft Way. Turn left at Bancroft Way. Go three streets to the corner of Dana, and Haas Pavilion is 100 yards north of that intersection.

  Directions for Swimming/Diving/Water Polo

Follow College Avenue until it dead ends at Bancroft Way. Turn left at Bancroft Way. Go three streets to the corner of Dana, and Spieker Aquatics Complex is on the right. For Legends Aquatic Center, continue another block down Bancroft and the pool is on the left side of the street.

 Directions for Gymnastics

Follow College Avenue until it dead ends at Bancroft Way. Turn left at Bancroft Way. Go three streets to the corner of Dana, and Haas Pavilion is 100 yards north of that intersection.

Directions for Rugby

Witter Rugby Field is located just east of California Memorial Stadium, with its northwest border on the corner of Centennial Drive and Rim Way. 

Directions for Women's Lacrosse

Turn left from Channing onto Prospect. Memorial Stadium is straight ahead.

 Directions for Soccer

Follow College Avenue until it dead ends at Bancroft Way. Turn left at Bancroft Way. Go past Haas Pavilion. Edwards Stadium is located at the intersection of Fulton Street and Bancroft Way.

Follow College Avenue until it dead ends at Bancroft Way. Turn left at Bancroft Way. Go past Haas Pavilion. Edwards Stadium is located at the intersection of Fulton Street and Bancroft Way.

Directions/Parking for Field Hockey

Follow College Avenue until you reach Haste St. or Channing Way, and go West.  Entrances to the Underhill Garage (directly below the field hockey turf) are available on both Haste and Channing.

 Directions for Crew

Directions from Cal Campus: Take Interstate 80 South. Merge onto Interstate 880 South towards San Jose. Exit on Fruitvale Avenue. Turn right onto Derby Avenue. Turn right onto Glascock Street.
