Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Jan. 1, 2007

Playing what turned out to be his last game in a California uniform, Marshawn Lynch led the Golden Bears to a convincing 45-10 victory over Texas A&M in the 29th annual Holiday Bowl in San Diego to earn Muscle Milk California Athlete of the Week honors.

The junior, who declared for the NFL Draft shortly after the game, ran for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also catching three passes. His first touchdown gave the Bears a 14-7 lead and the second made it 21-10 early in the second half. The victory wrapped up Cal's second 10-win season in the last three years and also made head coach Jeff Tedford the first Golden Bear coach with three bowl victories. In addition to his record 17 100-yard rushing games, Lynch closes his career as the second-leading rusher in Cal history.
