Senior Jessica Kreck was presented with the prestigious Neufeld Scholar-Athlete Award at the 2012 Student-Athlete Honors Luncheon. The awards are given to the graduating male and female student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade-point averages. The award was established by Cal Hall of Famer William Neufeld Sr. in honor and memory of his son, William Jr., who ran track at Cal before his untimely death in a boating accident.
Kreck, an art major, had a 3.75 cumulative GPA. She was a four-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad for field hockey.
Andreas Santucci was the male athlete to receive the award.
