Shaw Leads Nation in Receiving
Cal receiver Bobby Shaw maintained his status as the NCAA's No. 1 receiver after a second consecutive brilliant outing in Cal's 40-36 win over Oklahoma last Saturday.
Shaw caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns against the Sooners, including the game-winning 15-yard TD pass with just over two minutes left in the game. He was named the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive game for his performance against Oklahoma. He also picked up the honor after the Houston game on Sept. 5. Shaw leads all receivers in college football with an average of 11.0 receptions per game and is also ranked first in receiving yards with 181.0 yards a game. Shaw is sixth in all-purpose rushing, averaging 203.5 yards a game and is tied for sixth in scoring with 12.0 points per game. Cal quarterback Justin Vedder is currently ranked 12th nationally in total offense with 281.0 yards per game while his 152.5 pass efficiency rating puts him in the No. 16 spot in the NCAA rankings this week.
