High School/Personal: Was a standout lineman at Gridley HS...earned first team Westside League honors as both a defensive tackle and offensive tackle his senior season...also starred on the track and field team, setting new school records in the shot put (55-7) and discus (174-6)...was recruited by several schools, including Oregon, Fresno State and Oregon State, in football but elected to walk-on at Cal in the fall of 1997 and concentrate on track and field...after splitting time with spring football, he managed to play a big role on Cal's track and field team, taking fifth place in the Pac-10 shot put with a PR 58-2...also had a best in the discuss of 161-5...majoring in rhetoric at Cal...lists working on cars as a hobby and owning a ranch as a future goal...parents are Earl DeSomber and Chris Mills...born Oct. 26, 1978 in Yuba City, CA.
