Coloma enters her third season as a walk-on with the Cal basketball team...saw a significant increase in playing time from her freshman to her sophomore season...she is in her fourth year at Cal academically...hard-working contributor to the program...enthusiastic and energetic player.
As a sophomore in 2001-02:
After playing in only three games as a freshman, saw action in 19 contests and made one start at USC Feb. 24...averaged 6.5 minutes per outing...posted or tied all of her career highs last season - points (2) and minutes played (15) at Oregon Feb. 9, rebounds (3) at Oregon State Feb. 7, assists (3) vs. Lipscomb Jan. 4 and steals (1) vs. UCLA Feb. 22...named Co-Most Inspirational Player with Janet Franey.
As a freshman in 2000-01:
Saw action in three games, all during the Pac-10 season - at Oregon Jan. 11, and at home vs. UCLA and USC (Mar. 1 & 3)...tallied her first collegiate point on a free throw against the Bruins...also dished off an assist against the Ducks and grabbed a steal against the Trojans...selected Co-Most Inspirational Player with Becky Staubes.
High School:
Played in the post at Middletown High School for four years despite being only 5-6...senior year picked as team MVP after averaging 10 points, six rebounds four assists and five steals per game...captain as a junior and senior...earned all-league and all-county honors as a junior and senior...Santa Rosa Press Democrat Athlete of the Year for her school as a senior...averaged approximately four steals per game her sophomore through senior seasons...named Best Defensive Player on her team as a freshman and junior...also played volleyball and tennis for four years each in high school.

Luana Marie Coloma was born April 12, 1981 in Utah...parents are Jason and Sabrina Coloma...has two older brothers, Travis and Marcus, and a younger sister, Malia...her dad played football at BYU...was her high school valedictorian and student body president in 1999...major is interdisciplinary studies.
