National Success
• Tied for 14th in the 100-meter backstroke (55.18) in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials; swam a 2:03.60 in the 200-meter backstroke and a 56.44 in the 100 butterfly
• At the 2005 U.S. National Championships placed 16th in the 200-meter backstroke (2:06.09) and 17th in the 100 back (56.72)
• At the 2005 U.S. World Championships Trials, placed 16th in the 200 back (2:06.88) and 23rd in the 100 back (58.19)
• Runner-up in both the 200 back (2:02.65) and the 100 back (57.06) at 2004 U.S. Nationals
• Placed second in the 200 back (2:04.82) at the 2004 U.S. Open Championships
Cal Success
• In the 2008 NCAA Championships, set school records and earned All-America honors when he took third place in the 100-yard backstroke in 45.72, led off the second-place 400-medley relay (3:05.38; 45.93 split), and led off the third-place 200-medley relay (1:24.50; 21.68 split); claimed honorable mention All-America honors by finishing 10th in the 200 back (1:42.09)
• At the Pac-10 Championships in 2008, won the 200-yard back (1:42.01), led off the winning 200-medley relay in a then-school record 1:25.09, led off the winning 400-medley relay in a then-school record 3:06.84 and placed second in the 100 back (46.61)
• In the 2007 NCAA Championships, was an honorable mention All-American, placing ninth in the 200 back, and swimming the backstroke leg of the Bears' 400 (10th) and 200 medley (15th) relays
• 2007 Pac-10 champion in the 100 back
• Swam the backstroke leg on Cal's second-place 200 medley relay at the 2007 Pac-10 Championships
• Swam a 1:41.81, at that point the school's second-best all-time mark in the 200 back, in 2007
• In 2006, set Cal's then-third-best all-time mark in the 100 back (46.70)
• Was a 2006 honorable mention All-American, swimming the backstroke leg of the Bears' 400-medley relay that placed 10th at the NCAA Championships
