In the 2008 NCAA Championships, set school records and earned All-America honors when he took third place in the 100-yard backstroke in 45.72, led off the second-place 400-medley relay (3:05.38; 45.93 split), and led off the third-place 200-medley relay (1:24.50; 21.68 split); claimed honorable mention All-America honors by finishing 10th in the 200 back (1:42.09)
At the Pac-10 Championships in 2008, won the 200-yard back (1:42.01), led off the winning 200-medley relay in a then-school record 1:25.09, led off the winning 400-medley relay in a then-school record 3:06.84 and placed second in the 100 back (46.61)
In the 2007 NCAA Championships, was an honorable mention All-American, placing ninth in the 200 back, and swimming the backstroke leg of the Bears' 400 (10th) and 200 medley (15th) relays
