Competed in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 50- and 100-meter freestyles
Took the 2007-08 collegiate season off to train and attempt to qualify for the 2008 U.S. Olympic team
Missouri Success
Swam for three seasons (2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07) at Missouri
Set the Mizzou record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 43.58 seconds
Named men's 2005-06 Big 12 Performer of the Year
Led off the 800 free relay that captured second place and set the school mark at the 2005 conference meet with a time of 6:41.40
As a freshman in 2004-05, notched an eighth-place finish in the 100 free, and top-10 and top-15 finishes in the 100 back and 50 free, respectively, at the Big 12 Championships

Named Kirkwood High School Outstanding Senior Male Athlete as a senior
Participated in the Missouri State Senior All-Star game for water polo
Named St. Louis City vs. County High School All-Star basketball game MVP
as a senior

Why did you choose Cal?
There is no other college in the country with such prestigious academic and swim programs.
Where do you see yourself after graduation?
After I graduate I hope to keep swimming and use my Cal degree to help me get into a great grad school program.
What is your favorite memory at Cal so far?
Our first team bonding experience where we went paintballing.
What are your swimming goals for this year and for the rest of your college swimming career?
This is my one shot to be on a contending team, so I want to win the whole thing.

Cal has the best combination of academics and swimming out of any school in the country. You cannot say no to such a great opportunity.
