Jacobs was the 1936 Wimbledon Singles Championship … from 1932 to ’35, she won eight United States Championships:  Singles (1932, ’33, ’34, ’35), Doubles (1932, ’34, ’35) and Mixed Doubles (1934) … .she also won the Italian singles and doubles’ championship in 1934 … she was a member of the Wightman Cup team (1927-39) with an 18-11 record … named Associate Press Female Athlete of the Year in 1933 … elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1962 … recipient of the Tennis Immortal Award from the Tennis Writers Association in 1968.
