CAL FIELD HOCKEY

California field hockey ushered in a new era when the Golden Bears stepped foot onto Underhill Field in 2016. Since then, the Bears have settled into a facility that includes separate visiting and home team locker rooms, an onsite training room and equipment storage, covered team benches and fan seating for up to 250 spectators.

The field was built with the Astroturf 90 watering system to accommodate the highest level of hockey surfaces, and includes lighting around the perimeter for night games. Also built into the facility is a video referral replay system for official reviews, and live streaming equipment to broadcast the Bears' games internationally.

The turf is located off one of Berkeley's main streets, College Ave., and with the turf nestled between several campus buildings, students can often be seen watching and cheering on the Bears from their dorm rooms.

Prior to playing at Underhill, the Bears called Maxwell Field home, which has since been converted to a multipurpose field and parking garage.

PARKING

Four levels of parking are available in the Underhill Parking Structure directly below the facility, where public parking is available (fee required) from Monday through Sunday between 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. Entrances to the garage are located on Channing Way and Haste Street between College Ave. and Bowditch St.
