Savanna Smith is in her second season as the Assistant Director of Men’s Basketball Operations, joining the program on June 1, 2015.

Prior to working within Cal Athletics, Smith competed on the Cal women’s water polo team. A three-year varsity letter winner, Smith played as the starting goalie for the 2012-13 season. Due to reoccurring injuries, Smith decided to medically retire prior to her senior season, though remained involved with the team and with Cal Athletics. Smith served as a vice president on the Golden Bear Advisory Committee, a student-athlete run group dedicated to improving the student-athlete experience at Cal and addressing issues important to the Pac-12 and NCAA.

Smith served as a property assistant for IMG at Cal for both the 2014 football season and the 2014-15 men’s and women’s basketball seasons. Additionally, she served as an intern in the Cal Athletics Communication Office, working with men’s water polo, men’s swimming & diving, women’s water polo and baseball.

Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the UC Berkeley in 2015.
