Kim Williams, a three-time NCAA champion and six-time All-American as a swimmer at Stanford who most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach at Northwestern, was hired as an assistant coach for the California men's and women's swimming & diving programs on April 21, 2023.

Williams, who was also a team captain for the Cardinal and a four-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, was part of Stanford's 200-yard and 400-yard medley relay teams that set American and NCAA records.

Williams was part of Stanford teams that won three consecutive NCAA and Pac-12 championships (2017-19). She was a member of two NCAA championship 400 medley relay teams and another that won a national crown in the 200 medley relay. In addition to earning All-American honors in both relays, she also garnered the nod in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Williams has also competed at two U.S. Olympic Trials.

Williams earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in political science from Stanford in 2019.
