Jared Donaldson, a former professional player who was ranked as high as No. 48 in the world, joined the Cal men’s tennis coaching staff in January of 2022.
Donaldson, who hails from Chepachet, Rhode Island, reached a career-high ranking of 48 on the ATP World Tour and qualified for the ATP Next Gen in 2017. He reached the third round of singles at Wimbledon in 2017 and at the 2016 US Open, and in 2018, Donaldson reached the second round of the French Open and competed in the Australian Open.
He reached the singles quarterfinals of a Masters tournament for the first time in the 2017 Cincinnati Masters. The following year he got to the semifinals of an ATP event for the first time in the 2018 Mexican Open, which propelled him to his No. 48 ranking.
Donaldon, 25, is also enrolled as a student at Cal.
