Oeding is serving as an assistant coach for the USA women’s water polo team, which enters the Olympic Games ranked No. 1 in the world. Oeding had a decorated playing career in Berkeley, leading the Golden Bears to a pair of NCAA championships and being named the NCAA Player of the Year in 1992. Oeding was also a three-time All-American and played in two Summer Olympics – in 1996 and 2000. Oeding has had a wildly successful coaching career in the community college ranks – leading Long Beach City College to six state championships while coaching both the men’s and women’s teams. He also coached at Orange Coast College, where he twice was named Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year.
