Following a five-year career as a runner for the Golden Bears, Carrick Denker is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with Cal's cross country and track & field teams.
Denker, who graduated with a degree in business administration, was named USTFCCCA All-West Region in his final season at Cal after a 23rd-place finish at the 2024 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships, a year in which he also took first place at the USF Invitational to become the Bears' first winner since 2018. In 2023, he was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team after taking 14th place at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships.
As a high school senior, Denker placed third at the 2019 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Cross Country Championships and was that year's 1600m South Coast League Champion.
