Travers Family head Football Coach Tosh Lupoi has named Pat McCann as the team’s new passing game coordinator on December 27th, 2025.

McCann has been a collegiate coach for over 15 years and spent the 2025 season at Oregon State where he served as the wide receivers coach.

Prior to his time in Corvallis, McCann spent three years at Fresno State as the Bulldog’s wide receivers coach and was later elevated to offensive coordinator where he held the post for two seasons prior to leaving.

During his time in the Valley, McCann coached two 1,000-yard wide receivers, Mac Dalena in 2024 and Jalen Moreno-Cropper in 2022. In 2023, the Fresno State offense ranked second in the Mountain West for passing offense and fifth in total offense in his first season as offensive coordinator.

Overall, McCann coached three All-MWC first team selections and one All-MWC second team selection with the Bulldogs.

Before his time in Fresno, he coached at Eastern Washington for three years where he served as the team’s Wide Receivers coach all three seasons while also serving as the passing game coordinator and recruiting coordinator for one season.

In 2021, the Eagles finished 10-3 and ended the season ranked seventh in the final FCS poll. Under McCann, the Eagle offense led the FCS in total offense averaging 555.7 yards per game, including 400.5 yards through the air while averaging 44 points per game. In his offense, Quarterback Eric Barriere was named an All-American and All-Conference in 2021 while being selected as the National FCS Player of the Year. The Eagles also had four selected to the all-conference team in 2021.

During the 2020-21 COVID year, the Eagles ranked third in total offense with 524.9 yards per game and seventh in scoring at 37.7 points per game. A pair of Eagle receivers were later selected all-conference.

In 2019, he helped lead the Eagles to the top offense in the FCS at 524.8 yards per game and as the recruiting coordinator, landed the No. 1 signee class in Big Sky.

Prior to his time in Cheney, he spent two seasons in the midwest at Northern Iowa where he coached wide receivers. With the Panthers, he coached All-Conference selection Daurice Fountain, who was later a fifth-round selection in the NFL Draft and two Freshman All-Americans in Deion McShane and Isaiah Weston.

Before his time in Iowa, McCann served as the wide receivers coach for UC Davis for four seasons. During his stint in Davis, the wide receiver room saw one All-American and four receivers named All-Conference.

His first coaching gig came at Stonehill College, where he spent four seasons as the team’s wide receiver coach. He then added Special teams coordinator to his title for two seasons before being elevated to offensive coordinator for the final two seasons.

A Western Washington graduate, McCann played wide receiver for the Vikings where he  caught 58 passes for 1,057 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. He was later named all-conference honors in 2008. He spent his first three collegiate years at the College of the Canyons from 2003-05, leading the program to a Junior College National Championship in 2004.
