Tyler Timm joined Cal Athletics as an Associate Director for Athletic Communications on March 31, 2025. He oversees all aspects of football media relations and public relations responsibilities and works to build the overall awareness of Cal football to local, regional and national audiences.

Timm came to Berkeley after spending two years as the Associate Director for Media Relations and Content Creation at the University of North Carolina. While there, he served as the secondary football contact and was the primary contact for the 2023 national championship-winning women’s tennis program while overseeing coverage of the UNC track & field program.

Prior to his time in Chapel Hill, Timm spent one year at Iowa State University where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications. In Ames, he was the primary media contact for the Cyclones' women’s soccer, softball and gymnastics programs while also serving as the secondary media contact for the nationally-ranked men’s basketball program.

Timm spent the 2021-22 athletic season at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, serving in a variety of communications-related roles for the Demon Deacons Athletics Communications staff.

A native of Sturgis, Michigan, Timm completed his undergraduate degree in journalism and communications from the University of Oregon in 2016.

Timm and his wife, Jasmine, have a son named Truman.
