Julie Southard, formerly an assistant coach at La Salle University, joined the Cal coaching staff in August of 2007.

She spent two years at La Salle, working as the top assistant for Julie Weiss before coming to Berkeley. An All-Ivy League goalkeeper at Brown, Southard worked closely with the defense and goalkeepers and with recruiting at La Salle.

A three-year starter in goal at Brown, Southard competed against Cal head coach Theresa Sherry when the latter played at Princeton.
