  • Cal is one win away from tying a school record for number of victories in a season (54 in 2001). The Golden Bears are on an eight-game winning streak, their second longest this year (their longest is 11 games).

  • The Golden Bears improved to 36-1 this year when scoring three or more runs in a game.

  • Oklahoma's Kelli Braitsch missed her first game of the season due to an injury sustained during pre-game warmups (she was hit in the mouth while fielding ground balls). She had started the previous 63 games of the year at shortstop.

  • Before its three-error third inning, OU had committed just two errors in its previous 16 games. The team's four errors for the game tied for the most on the season (Feb. 19 vs. Oklahoma City and March 15 vs. Rutgers).

  • Cal senior pitcher Jocelyn Forest picked up her 100th career victory today. She joins Michele Granger (1990-93) as the only two Golden Bears to reach the century mark for wins. In this postseason, Forest is 5-0 with a 0.92 earned run average and 45 strikeouts in 38.0 innings pitched.

  • Despite the loss, OU senior pitcher Jennifer Stewart (who surrendered four unearned runs) has a 5-3 record with a 0.87 earned run average in her WCWS career. This postseason, Stewart is 4-1 with a 0.42 ERA.

  • OU lost its opening game of the Women's College World Series for the first time in three appearances.

  • Christy Ring, Oklahoma's senior leftfielder, had her nine-game hitting streak snapped with her 0-for-3 performance. Ring hit .733 (11-for-15) in regional play last weekend.
