Recap |  Box Score

California Head Coach Ben Braun

On close games Cal seems to have at home versus Oregon:
These games always seem to come down to the wire. I give the credit to Oregon. They came back and hit some shots when they had to and, fortunately, we had stops when we had to. It was a big night for Marquise (Kately). He led us in boards, 7-for-7 from the line. Good win for us.

On Oregons final possession:
Aaron Brooks has been a big player for them all year and he got the ball to (Ian) Crosswhite, who's equally capable of knocking down a three. Crosswhite got it over to (Jordan) Kent who jumped hard and we hit hard. I think we tried to draw the foul, which wasnt a bad strategy.

On the big, loud home crowd:
Its great to have the students back. Its important to us. Maybe it wasn't the biggest crowd but it was the loudest.

Oregon Head Coach Ernie Kent

On changes that need to be made to Oregon's game:
We have to get going with more energy. It's called starting the game with a sense of urgency. We just dug too much of a hole in the first half. It may be as simple as changing the starting lineup to bring more energy to the floor. This was a tough game. We cut it to one point but Cal hung in there and got it done. We didn't.

On reasons for the loss:
We lost on Oregon's inability to execute. We had 18 turnovers and we didn't keep them off the boards. I'm proud of the way that we fought back but we just didn't get it done.

On the rest of the Oregon season:
We're still going to battle and we're still going to fight.
